Licenses and Ratings

Private Pilot (PPL)

The most common pilot certificate is the private pilot license. This is often the first piloting license obtained for both personal use or along a career track to becoming a professional pilot. This allows a pilot to fly at night and at controlled airports as well as fly with a passenger on board. While not for hire, this license allows one to take family or friends to destinations near and far!

Instrument Flight Rating (IFR)

The Instrument Flight Rating enables a pilot to fly utilizing the aircraft instrumentation. This deepens pilot knowledge significantly and allows the IFR pilot to file flight plans along designated flight routes and in conditions where visual reference is limited. This is a step required to become a professional pilot.

Commercial Pilot (CPL)

The commercial pilot certificate allows a pilot to be paid for their flying services. Since there are separate regulations for scheduled flights, commercial pilots must also abide by any additional federal aviation regulations pertaining to commercial flying operations.

Flight Instructor (CFI & CFII)

For those that want to gain hours or go into a career as a pilot, a flight instructor certificate is the next step for many. Although some pilots bypass the flight instructor certificate, many choose to instruct as a way to build experience while getting paid to fly.

The Training Process

Our process for licensing students is similar across all levels

We will discuss your goals and concerns to best match you with one of our instructors.
Our team will develop an action plan based on your situation that will specify the logistics of your training. This will include a personalized timeline based on your schedule, any costs that are involved, and much more!
You will begin in-flight training and ground school which covers the required skills and knowledge to be certified for your desired level.
Once proficiency and guidelines are met (as dictated by the FAA) we will help you set up required examination for each step of the process
